Lay Eucharistic Visitors

Lay Eucharistic Visitors, not to be confused with Lay Eucharistic Ministers, are trained to take communion to people who are unable to attend church. The elements are taken from the reserve sacrament (i.e., they have already been consecrated) and there is an established form of prayer for sharing the Eucharist with people.
Meal Ministry

The Meal Ministry at Good Shepherd provides meals for individuals and families that find it difficult to prepare their own meals for a brief period of time as a result of illness or a death in the family. Ministers prepare and delivered warm or frozen for use by the family or individual as needed.

Daughters of the King Prayer Ministry

The Daughters of the King support our parish through prayer for those in need. They also alert the clergy to new needs for Soul Care.
Welcome Ministry

The Welcome Ministry ensures that visitors to our church are identified, receive a warm welcome, and are encouraged to participate in the life of the body of Christ.

Health & Healing

Health & Healing is a new area for our parish. Our bodies are God’s good gift and God’s healing intention for us is spiritual, emotional and physical in ways that cannot be separated from one another.

This includes education, support and referral, focusing on a variety of challenges: caring for aging parents, parenting children struggling with handicaps, grief and loss – among many others. The ministry is focused on peer support, spiritual care, and referral to specialists. The ministry is not a substitute for professional guidance.

Current efforts include companionship ministry, workshops, and a blog addressing issues of significance to God's healing work in our lives.

Remix Flower Ministry

The Remix Flower Ministry uses the flower arrangements at the church (often supplemented by additional flowers and greens) to create small flower arrangements to share with people who are ill, unable to attend church, or grieving.

You can request a bouquet by texting FLOWERS to (615) 637-3738 or clicking the button below to fill out a brief form.
