Artist Statement and Instructions
Transcript: Welcome to Stations in the Street, an interactive devotional featuring the work of visual artist Scott Erickson, and narration by members of Good Shepherd. The Stations of the Cross offer a way of meditating on Jesus’ final hours before his crucifixion. Each of the following twelve stations marks a particular moment in Jesus’ journey to the cross.
At each station, you will be invited to do three things: behold, be attentive, and be still.
First, behold. Look at the image. What do you notice? What surprises you? Does anything provoke a strong reaction?
Second, be attentive. Begin the audio track corresponding to your current station on your phone. You’ll hear a short Scripture reading describing the scene, and a brief meditation.
Finally, be still. Take a moment to reflect on what you’ve seen and heard, and be still with God. You can move through the stations at your own pace.
These recordings will be available on our website, goodshepherdbrentwood.org until April 11th. We welcome you to revisit the stations and these recordings as frequently as you would like.
When you’re ready, move to Station I and hit play on your phone.
