Discipled for Action
“We love because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19
We are called to love others because God first loved us. At Good Shepherd, love looks like action. There is no shortage of need in the world, and as a parish, we endeavor to care for as many as we encounter. Only in doing so, do we then become the light of the world Christ calls us to be.

GraceWorks
Good Shepherd is an official partner church with GraceWorks! We host nights to pack Fuel Bags every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6 PM. These bags are filled with nutritious and easily prepared foods for children to eat on the weekends when they are away from access to their school’s lunch program. Fuel Bags currently provides food for more than 450 children each week.
San José Obrero
Each year, we send a group of volunteers to visit our sister parish, San José Obrero in Manta, Ecuador. While there, we offer support to their preschool program by building classrooms, providing supplies, and cooking breakfasts.
We have also run medical clinics under the supervision of local doctors. These clinics provide eye and dental exams, oral hygiene products, vitamins, and medical examinations for over 350 women and children.
Soul Care
This new initiative, facilitated by Father Fred, includes our Lay Eucharistic Visitors, Meal Ministry, Welcome Ministry, and Flower Ministry. Within these roles, we provide companionship, encouragement, support, and educational events on holistic health.
Outreach Wagon
Every month, we collect for a new local outreach program! If you have ideas for the next drive, email Deacon Rebecca.
